If you start running a fever or have a drastic increase in pain, go see a doctor right away. You don't want to risk an infection - fever is a sure sign of that. If it doesn't improve in a few days, I would go to the doctor to make sure that there is nothing else going on. In the meantime, you will want to rest, drink plenty of fluids, and make sure you are eating a healthy diet. If you go in right now, the doctor will likely just confirm that it's a cyst, give you some meds for pain, and tell you to wait to see if it will clear up on its own.

If you do have to go to the doctor, you can ask for a reduced rate. Many doctors will give you a discount if you are paying for your own appointment, especially if you've been going to the same doctor for a while.

I no longer have medical insurance and I'm pretty sure I have another cyst. I don't want to go in and be seen if it's not necessary. I've had a lot more pain this cycle than average, and my period was a week early (I'm absolutely not pregnant, my husband had a vasectomy over 2 years ago). At what point would I need to be seen? If I can deal with the pain am I OK? I've had a ruptured cyst before and this isn't that bad, but I'm having severe bouts of sharp stabbing pain followed by dull achy pain.
